It's no surprise to most companies that fleets are expensive. Many try to manage the cost by dialing most people don't want to drive, meaning the company car isn't the perk it used to be. Yet, while the personal value of a company car for employees is at a low point, companies still pay dearly to store, fuel and maintain that fleet – around $2,500 to $4,500 per vehicle per year. With FAVR, companies have options. They can strip out several thousand dollars of per-vehicle cost and save it. They can roll it into an incentive plan that better benefits employees and they can redirect a new vehicle and get it free, or for much less money than a standard car payment plus insurance (depending how much a company chooses to reimburse and what kind of car the employee chooses).
